On July 24th-26th, 2016 in Austria was held the internationa workshop “Professional Dialog Meeting”.

Prof. Jalal Dabbeek, Director of Urban Planning and Disaster Risk Reducing center–An-Najah National University have participated in the international workshop “Professional Dialogue Meeting”, which was held in Austria during the period 24-26 / 07/2016 upon the invitation of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs OCHA.

Representatives of a number of Middle Eastern and European institutions working in the field of disaster management and response for emergency operations have participated in this workshop. The workshop was devoted to discuss joint initiatives to prepare and respond to disasters. During the workshop, Dr. Jalal Dabbeek presentation was made on the following topics: Support Action for Strengthening Palestinian-administrated Areas capabilities for seismic Risk Mitigation project (SASPARM2.0) and reviewing the results of some studies that have been conducted during the project, mainly: the seismic vulnerability of common building in Nablus city as well as the social vulnerability and the implication of these vulnerabilities on seismic risk maps and emergency response operations during disasters.
